Shipping policy

This Packaging & Delivery Policy explains how we process, produce, and ship your order from Lin Jan’s Art. By placing an order, you agree to the terms below.

1. Scope & Regions

We currently ship within the Netherlands only. Shipping to additional EU countries will be introduced soon. If you are located in the EU and interested in ordering, please contact contact@linjans-art.com so we can assist you.

2. How Our Timeline Works (Processing → Production → Shipping)

To set clear expectations, each art print order goes through three distinct phases:

A. Processing Time

  • Order and payment verification, order hand-off to our production partner.
  • Typical processing: 0–1 business day.

B. Production Time (Made to Order)

  • All art prints are made to order (we do not hold stock).
  • Our partner produces to gallery standards; framing is custom-made.
  • Typical production windows:
    • Unframed prints: 2–4 business days
    • Framed prints: 5–7 business days (custom frame assembly)
  • Shipping Time (time in transit with the carrier)
    • Netherlands: typically 1–3 business days
    • Remote areas, holidays, or carrier disruptions may extend transit times.
  • Estimated total delivery time (processing + production + shipping) generally aligns with:
    • Unframed prints: ~7–10 business days
    • Framed prints: ~10–14 business days

You will receive a tracking link when your parcel leaves the production facility.

Please note: The above timelines apply to art prints only. Delivery timelines for original or commissioned artworks differ and will be communicated individually before shipment or handover. If personal delivery is arranged for an original artwork, the delivery date and time will be scheduled directly with the client. Any additional costs for personal delivery will be communicated and agreed upon before scheduling.

3. Packaging & Protection

  • Packaging is handled by our professional fine-art printing and framing partner using materials suitable for art transport.
  • Unframed prints: small formats ship flat in reinforced envelopes; larger formats are rolled in sturdy tubes.
  • Framed prints: shipped ready to hang, with protective corner guards, multiple wraps, and strong outer packaging.
  • Original & commissioned artworks: Packaged by Lin personally and shipped using reinforced, art-safe packaging suitable for fine-art transport, or delivered by Lin in person where feasible.

4. Shipping Methods & Carriers

Orders ship with trusted carriers such as DHL, PostNL, UPS or similar, always with track & trace. A signature may be required for higher-value shipments. Original artworks and commissioned pieces may be delivered personally (where feasible) or shipped using art-safe methods. If a different shipping method is required, this will be communicated before shipment.

5. Shipping Costs & Free Shipping Threshold

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on size, weight, and delivery address. Free shipping from €100 applies to orders delivered within the Netherlands and EU countries. Orders below €100 will display shipping costs during checkout. Original artworks and commissioned pieces are excluded from the free-shipping threshold due to specialised handling and transport requirements. Shipping costs for originals or commissions will be quoted individually and confirmed before shipment.

6. Address Accuracy & Changes

Please ensure your shipping address is complete and correct at checkout.
We ship to the address provided. If an incorrect or incomplete address leads to delivery issues or loss, we’ll assist where possible, but we cannot accept responsibility for undeliverable or lost packages caused by address errors.
If you need to update your address after ordering, contact us immediately at contact@linjans-art.com. Address changes may not be possible once production or shipping has begun.

7. Missed Delivery, Pickup Windows & Reshipment

Carriers typically make one or more delivery attempts and may hold the parcel at a pickup point for a limited period (commonly 5–7 days, depending on the carrier). If you miss a delivery or do not collect your parcel in time:

  • Reshipment: Once the parcel returns to us, we can reship it on request.
    New shipping costs apply and must be paid before reshipment.
  • Refund instead of reshipment: If you prefer a refund once the parcel returns to us, the refund amount will be the product price minus the original shipping cost and minus any return shipping fees charged by the carrier. For refund details, see our Returns & Refund Policy.
  • Original and commissioned artworks: If an original artwork returns unclaimed or undeliverable, the return will be treated as a standard return under our Returns & Refund Policy and any applicable outbound and return shipping fees will be deducted. If a commissioned piece returns unclaimed or undeliverable, it cannot be refunded. If the client no longer wishes to receive the artwork, the client will be invoiced only for the material cost (canvas + paint), as per our commission terms.

8. Damages, Delays & Lost Parcels

  • Damaged or incorrect on arrival: Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the item, packaging, and the shipping label.
    We will arrange a replacement or a refund, depending on the situation.

  • Delays: Transit times are estimates. Delays may occur due to production schedules, holidays, weather conditions, customs, or carrier issues.
  • Lost parcels: If tracking shows a parcel is lost or not moving, email us at contact@linjans-art.com. We will open a claim with the carrier and refund or resend once loss is confirmed.

9. Multiple Shipments

Orders with multiple items may ship in separate parcels (e.g., a framed and an unframed print). Each parcel will receive its own tracking link.

10. Ownership & Risk

Ownership and risk pass to you upon delivery to the address provided (or upon collection from a pickup point). For unclaimed or undeliverable parcels, see Section 7.
